Ingredients

For the Dough:

4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) instant yeast

1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 cup warm milk (around 110°F or 43°C)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

For the Filling:

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground cardamom

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature

For the Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Prepare the Dough:

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, salt, instant yeast, ground cardamom, and ground cinnamon. Ensure all the dry ingredients are thoroughly mixed.

      Mix Wet Ingredients:

In a separate bowl, combine the warm milk with the melted butter and eggs. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well-blended.

          Combine and Knead:

Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and allow it to rise in a warm area for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until it has doubled in size.

              Prepare the Filling:

In a small bowl, combine the packed brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and ground cardamom. Mix well and set aside for later use.

                  Roll Out the Dough:

After the dough has risen, gently deflate it by punching it down. Turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and roll it into a rectangle with a thickness of about 1/4 inch.

                      Add the Filling:

Spread the softened butter over the surface of the rolled-out dough. Evenly sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar-cardamom mixture across the buttered surface.

                          Form the Rolls:

Starting from one long edge of the rectangle, carefully roll the dough tightly to form a log shape. Pinch the seams to seal the roll. Using a sharp knife or a piece of dental floss, slice the log into 12 equal portions.

                              Second Rise:

Arrange the rolls in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish or two round cake pans, placing them so they slightly touch each other. Cover the dish with a towel and let the rolls rise for an additional 30-45 minutes, or until they are puffy.

                                  Bake:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Once the rolls have risen, place them in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown and fully cooked.

                                      Prepare the Glaze:

In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps to create the glaze.

                                          Glaze the Rolls:

After removing the baked rolls from the oven, allow them to cool for about 5 minutes. Drizzle the prepared glaze over the warm rolls before serving.

                                              Prep Time: 30 minutes | Total Time: 2 hours 30 minutes | Servings: 12

                                                - Presentation Tips: Serve the cinnamon cardamom rolls on a large platter, and consider garnishing with a light dusting of additional powdered sugar or a sprinkle of cinnamon for an extra touch of elegance. Enjoy warm!
