Ingredients

12 oz bowtie pasta

1 lb lean ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional for added depth)

1 cup beef broth

1 cup heavy cream

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (or to taste)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the bowtie pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.

Brown the Beef: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until softened and translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms (if using), cooking together for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant and the mushrooms are tender.

Cook the Beef: Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Use a spatula to break up the meat as it cooks, ensuring it browns evenly. Cook until the beef is thoroughly browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. If there's excess fat, drain it from the skillet.

Add Flavorings: Sprinkle in the Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Allow it to simmer for approximately 5 minutes, letting the flavors meld and the broth reduce slightly.

Make the Cream Sauce: Lower the heat to medium-low and slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens and becomes creamy.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked bowtie pasta directly into the skillet with the creamy beef mixture. Gently toss to ensure all the pasta is evenly coated in the sauce. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, mixing until it melts and integrates smoothly into the dish.

Garnish and Serve: Taste the pasta and adjust seasonings as needed. Serve hot, garnished with a sprinkle of freshly chopped parsley for a vibrant touch.
