1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat or gluten-free)

1/4 cup BBQ sauce (plus extra for serving)

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for added heat)

4 slider buns

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking.

    Mash the Chickpeas: In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained and rinsed chickpeas. Using a fork or a potato masher, mash the chickpeas until they are mostly smooth, but allow some chunks to remain for added texture.
