Ingredients

1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs, diced

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup marinara sauce (plus extra for serving)

1 tbsp Italian seasoning

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 package (13.8 oz) refrigerated pizza dough

2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

2 cloves garlic, minced

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the knots.

Prepare the Chicken Mixture: In a large skillet set over medium heat, add the diced chicken thighs. Season them generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning. Cook the chicken for about 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is browned and cooked through. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the marinara sauce until well combined.

Prepare the Pizza Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the refrigerated pizza dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick. Carefully cut the dough into strips approximately 1 inch wide to create strips for your garlic knots.

Assemble the Garlic Knots: Take one strip of pizza dough and place a generous spoonful of the chicken mixture at one end. Sprinkle with a handful of shredded mozzarella and a little grated Parmesan cheese. Roll the dough tightly towards the other end, forming a log. Pinch the ends to seal the filling in, then gently twist the rolled log into a knot shape.

Add Garlic Butter: In a small mixing bowl, combine the melted butter with the minced garlic for extra flavor. Using a brush, apply this garlic butter mixture over each garlic knot to add a delicious garlic essence.

Bake the Knots: Transfer the garlic knots onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Bake them in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until they turn a beautiful golden brown and are cooked through.

Final Touch: Once out of the oven, you may drizzle a bit more melted butter over the knots if desired. While they’re still warm, sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese generously over the top for a cheesy finish.

Serve: Serve the garlic knots warm with a side of marinara sauce for dipping. For an extra touch, garnish with fresh basil leaves if you like.
