1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes

½ cup cherry tomatoes, halved

½ cup cucumber, sliced into ¼-inch rounds

¼ cup dill pickles, cut into spears

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

12-15 wooden skewers

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients: Begin by slicing the cooked ham and sharp cheddar cheese into 1-inch cubes. Halve the cherry tomatoes for a burst of freshness, slice the cucumber into thin ¼-inch rounds, and cut the dill pickles into spears. Set all the prepared ingredients aside on a clean surface.

Make the Glaze: In a small mixing bowl, combine the Dijon mustard, honey, olive oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Whisk the mixture thoroughly until it becomes smooth and well blended. This glaze will add a delightful tangy sweetness to the skewers.

Assemble the Skewers: Take a wooden skewer and begin threading the ingredients in the following order: add a cube of ham, followed by a cube of cheddar cheese, a cherry tomato half, a cucumber round, and finish with a dill pickle spear. For a vibrant presentation, vary the order of the ingredients on each skewer to create a colorful display.

Repeat: Continue the assembly process with the remaining ingredients, ensuring you create 12-15 skewers in total.

Grill or Bake (Optional): For a deliciously warm and melty skewers, preheat your grill or oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush the assembled skewers generously with the prepared glaze on all sides. If grilling, place them on the grill for approximately 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the cheese starts to melt and everything is heated through. Alternatively, if baking, arrange them on a baking sheet and bake for around 10-12 minutes.

Serve: Once the skewers are perfectly cooked, remove them from the grill or oven. Serve the skewers warm or allow them to come to room temperature. For an extra layer of flavor, drizzle any remaining glaze over the skewers right before serving.
