Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (approximately 6 oz each)

1 bunch of fresh asparagus (about 1 lb), trimmed

3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

4 cloves garlic, finely minced

Juice and zest of 1 large lemon

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Lemon wedges, for serving

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to preheat at 400°F (200°C), allowing it to reach the ideal temperature while you prepare the ingredients.

Prepare the Baking Sheet: Take a large rimmed baking sheet and line it with parchment paper. This will help with easy cleanup and prevent the salmon and asparagus from sticking.

Season the Asparagus: In a spacious mixing bowl, add the trimmed asparagus. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of the olive oil and season generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Toss the asparagus until evenly coated. Arrange the asparagus in a single layer on one half of the prepared baking sheet.

Make the Lemon Garlic Sauce: In a small mixing bowl, combine the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil with the minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, dried oregano, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Whisk vigorously until the mixture is well combined and emulsified.

Prepare the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets on the opposite side of the baking sheet from the asparagus. Generously drizzle the lemon garlic sauce over each fillet, ensuring they are well coated with the flavorful mixture.

Bake: Transfer the baking sheet to the preheated oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The asparagus should be tender yet have a slight crispness. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature of the salmon reaches 145°F (63°C).

Serve: Once cooked, take the baking sheet out of the oven. Garnish the salmon and asparagus with freshly chopped parsley. Serve alongside lemon wedges for an extra burst of citrus flavor.

Enjoy: For a delightful meal, pair this dish with a light salad or a side of fluffy quinoa for added nutrition and texture.
