Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (6 oz each), skin-on

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

Juice and zest of 2 large lemons

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped)

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Lemon slices, for serving

Instructions

Preparation of Salmon:

    - Start by patting the salmon fillets dry using paper towels. This step ensures a crispy skin. Season both sides of the fillets generously with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika for a flavorful crust.

      Heat the Skillet:

        - In a large skillet, pour in the olive oil and heat over medium-high heat until the oil is shimmering and hot, which typically takes about 2–3 minutes.

          Cook the Salmon:

            - Gently place the seasoned salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down. Allow them to cook for about 4–5 minutes without moving them, until the skin becomes crispy and nicely browned. After that, carefully flip the fillets using a spatula and continue cooking for another 3–4 minutes, adjusting the time based on the thickness of the fillets, until the salmon is just opaque in the center.

              Add Garlic and Lemon:

                - Lower the heat to medium and add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 30 seconds, or until the garlic becomes fragrant and golden, being cautious not to let it burn.

                  - Next, pour in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and add the zest. Sprinkle the dried thyme over the mixture. Gently stir to combine and let the flavors meld for about a minute.

                    Finish with Butter:

                      - Add the unsalted butter to the skillet, swirling it around to melt and create a rich, creamy sauce. Spoon the garlic-lemon butter over the salmon fillets to enhance both flavor and moisture as they finish cooking.

                        Serve:

                          - Once cooked, remove the skillet from heat, and sprinkle the salmon with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color. Serve the salmon hot, accompanied by lemon slices on the side for an extra zesty kick.
