Ingredients

2 cups edamame in pods (fresh or frozen)

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust based on your spice preference)

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger

1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Sea salt (for a finishing touch)

Instructions

Prepare the Edamame: If using frozen edamame, cook them according to the package instructions, typically by boiling them in salted water for about 3-5 minutes. Once cooked, drain and set aside. For fresh edamame, rinse under cool water and prepare them for steaming.

Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for approximately 1-2 minutes, or until they become fragrant, ensuring you stir continuously to prevent the garlic from burning.

Combine Ingredients: Add the cooked edamame pods to the skillet. Stir well to thoroughly coat the edamame with the aromatic garlic and ginger mix, ensuring that each pod is well-flavored.

Add Flavor: Pour the soy sauce and sriracha over the edamame, stirring to combine. Sprinkle in the red pepper flakes, and continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the edamame to warm through completely.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat and transfer the spicy edamame to a serving bowl. Garnish generously with toasted sesame seeds, fresh chopped cilantro, and a light sprinkle of sea salt to enhance the flavor.

Enjoy: Serve the warm edamame as a delicious appetizer or a zesty snack, perfectly paired with your favorite Asian-inspired dishes!
