Ingredients

For the Shrimp:

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 tablespoon olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust according to spice preference)

1/4 cup honey

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

Salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste

Chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds for garnish

For the Rice:

1 cup jasmine rice

2 cups water

1 tablespoon butter

Pinch of salt

Instructions

Prepare the Rice:

    - Start by rinsing the jasmine rice under cold running water until the water appears clear, which helps to remove excess starch.

      - In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, 2 cups of water, and a pinch of salt. Add the butter to enhance the flavor.

        - Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, or until all the water has been absorbed. Afterward, remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.

          Make the Sauce:

            - In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, minced ginger, and red pepper flakes until well combined. Set the bowl aside for the flavors to meld.

              Cook the Shrimp:

                - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, arrange the peeled and deveined shrimp in a single layer in the skillet. Season the shrimp with salt and freshly cracked black pepper.

                  - Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on one side, or until they turn pink and opaque.

                    - Carefully flip the shrimp and pour the prepared sauce over them. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp are fully cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly.

                      Serve:

                        - To serve, place a generous portion of the fluffy jasmine rice on each plate and top it with the spicy honey garlic shrimp. Drizzle any extra sauce from the skillet over the shrimp for added flavor.

                          - Garnish the dish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds for added color and a delightful crunch.

                            Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 4

                              Presentation Tips:

Serve the shrimp and rice in shallow bowls, emphasizing the vibrancy of the colored toppings. Consider adding a slice of lime on the side for a refreshing pop of flavor!
